On Wednesday, 28th September, the class is visiting Martin Mere as part of our Anglo Saxon creative topic. Children will visit the roundhouse village were we will take part in a number of exciting workshops – these include foraging, thatching, weaving and weapons training.
We thought it would be a great idea this year if we tried to dress like Anglo-Saxons. The other side of this sheet includes the guidelines for what to wear from Martin Mere. Please remember when planning your outfit that children will be outside all day and must be warmly dressed.
It can get muddy so ideally wear wellies (or old boots/trainers) and bring a change of footwear.
Children will need to bring an eco-friendly packed lunch (as little packaging as possible) in a labelled plastic bag. If you want your child to have a typical Anglo Saxon lunch, there are some ideas overleaf. If your child receives free school meals and you would like a packed lunch from school, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make arrangements with our kitchen staff.
The coach is going to leave school at 9.10am, so please can all children arrive in school at 8.50am so we have time to take registers, go to the toilet etc.
