Welcome to Braeburn class. I'm Miss Baron, the class teacher. On Tuesdays,  Mrs Mason teaches us on Tuesdays and Wednesday afternoons. She teaches us for Maths, English, PSHE, RE and sometimes Art.  Ms Jones is our Learning Facilitator who helps us on Monday mornings and Tuesday afternoons.  Our class value that we aim to follow is 'Aspire.' This is one of the eight values across the school. 

Our typical day

We start our day of with some handwriting or a morning thinking task that warms our brains up. We use Spelling Shed to teach spelling strategies and we work on VIPERS for reading activities. We also have French with Madame Walbank on Tuesday mornings.

I then teach either English or Maths and in the afternoon, our foundation subjects are taught.  We do History/Geography, Art/DT, RE, PSHE, Music, Science, PE, Computing and on Friday afternoons, we go swimming. We have PE coaching with Coach Azz on Monday afternoons. We read our class novel everyday.

Homework

We expect children to read at least 3 times per week for 15-20 minutes. All children have a home-school reading book that they can choose to take home and timestables to learn that we test them on Fridays.  Spellings are taught within class and these are revised within our lesson and an informal assessment is done on these words at the end of the week.
