Mrs McVey
Welcome to Gala Class.
We are a mixed class of year 5 and 6 children. I am Mrs McVey the class teacher and I am with Gala Class on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On a Thursday, Mrs Spence works with the class. Mrs Mason, our HTLA works with the class most days and we are also supported by Mr Murray, Ms Jones and Mrs Anderson. Our class values are aspire and resilience, two values that are very important as we make our way through our final years at primary school.
In a typical day, we would learn English and maths every morning. We have separate arithmetic, spelling, reading and handwriting sessions. Then we also enjoy our creative subjects, such as art, French, PE, science and computing, which usually take place in the afternoons.
On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday we have a Whole School Assembly.
On Wednesday, we have a Singing Assembly.
On Friday, we have a Celebration Assembly where parents are invited.
On Mondays, we have P.E with our SHARES Coach and have additional PE session or swimming lesson on a Friday. It would be great if children could leave their PE kits in school and we will send them home every half term.
In Year 6, it is SATs Assessment week Mon 13th- 16th May 2024. Please can you make sure that all children are in school this week.
