Year 1 and 2- Mrs Spence 2025 - 2026
Mrs Spence
Hello and welcome to our class page!
In our class, we have lots of fun being curious learners and endevour to follow our school values: Love, Growth and Strength.
A typical day in our classroom looks like this:
- Assembly
- Phonics (Essential Letters and Sounds)
- English
- Playtime
- Maths
- Lunch time
- Foundation subject (such as Art and Design, History, Music, Science etc)
- Playtime
- Foundation Subject
- Handwriting and Daily Read Aloud
- Home time at 3:20pm
Every Friday we have a Celebration Assembly where parents and carers are invited to come and watch us get our certificate. Each Wednesday, our teachers send home a secret invitation to one of our growns.... but ssshhh, it's a surprise! We don't find out who is getting the certificate until we're in our special Friday celebration assembly!
When we have been busy using our brains, we sometimes have a quick movement break (which always involves singing and plenty of dance moves!).
We love to read in our class - reading helps you to grow and takes you on amazing adventures. What are your favourite books to read?
How can you help us at home?
Our grown-ups can help support our learning at home by helping us to practise our weekly spellings, listen to us read our ELS book at least three times a week and help us to learn our times tables ( X2, X5 and X10).
Keep an eye on our gallery to see what we've been getting up to on our learning journey! Ask us about our day at school.
