Our Curriculum
Our Crow Orchard Curriculum
Curriculum Intent
Our curriculum is fully aligned with the aims and objectives of the National Curriculum (2014). It is designed to provide all pupils with a broad, balanced and ambitious education that develops strong foundational knowledge, essential skills and positive attitudes to learning. Guided by our core values of love, growth and strength, we aim to nurture confident, resilient learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and for life in modern Britain. We believe every child can succeed and deserve a curriculum that is inclusive, challenging and supportive.
Curriculum Implementation
Our curriculum is carefully planned and sequenced so that knowledge and skills build progressively over time (growth). High-quality teaching ensures that learning is clear, engaging and adapted to meet the needs of all pupils. We create a safe, caring environment where children feel valued and supported to take risks in their learning (love). Teachers use effective assessment to inform planning, address misconceptions and ensure that pupils are supported and challenged appropriately. Across all subjects, we promote independence, perseverance and high expectations, helping pupils to develop confidence and resilience (strength).
Curriculum Impact
As a result of our curriculum, pupils make strong progress from their starting points and develop secure knowledge and skills across all subjects. They are enthusiastic learners who demonstrate confidence, curiosity and resilience in their learning (strength). Pupils show respect for themselves and others and take pride in their achievements (love). By the time they leave our school, pupils are well prepared academically, socially and emotionally for the next stage of their education, having developed the knowledge, understanding and personal qualities needed to continue to grow and succeed (growth).
